The light is coming

Only one short month until the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year (depending on where you are on the globe). As the days grow shorter I crave the light more and more and begin to look forward to the turning point.

Before long much of Second Life will become a winter wonderland in synch with the Northern Hemisphere.  I found some FREE gifts at the Gacha Garden to help get ready for the season.

The facial piercings are actually four separate components that Ava is wearing together. The Balian Set, the gift from Supernatural, comes in gold and silver and has a color HUD to change the stones. The piercings are unrigged, but they fit Ava's Catya head with only a tiny adjustment.

The "fur" cape is the gift from Since1975. Ava is wearing the cape with the included turtleneck, and it can be worn with other clothing whenever the suggestion of cold shoulders makes you shiver. The top and cape have an included color HUD and a pose that I'm using for the photo.

The warm knit hat is the gift from SEmotion and has a resize HUD to fit the hat to your head and hairstyle.

The SL Frees and Offers Hunt gift from Aleutia is the chic dress and scarf combo you see Ava wearing. The Logan dress and infinity scarf are separates, and the scarf has a texture changing Hud with lots of patterns to coordinate with this dress and more. I'm in love with the gorgeous textures and beautiful sleeve details! Like other Aleutia clothing, the Logan dress is sized for the Maitreya body.

I found the amazing coordinating shoes at the ArisArisB&W tent at the Boho Culture fair. I adore the fabulous details on the Gaiety Clogs, from the chunky sole to the fringe and tassels. You will pay $1L to scoop these up.

I dipped into the row of free group gifts at ::K:: for the tote bag, and I hit the Midnight Madness board at .Olive. for the Peach hair. No group is needed for the Midnight Madness and Lucky Boards at .Olive.. Ava's Union Earrings are a first anniversary gift from Aurealis that's available once you join the store's free group.

The SL F&O Hunt has some décor items and clothing for male avatars too. I've decorated the front door with the SL F&O Hunt gift from Once Upon Time. Called "Autumn Deco", the gift is a whimsical grouping of pumpkins and winter birds.

I've hunted down some seasonless wardrobe classics in the SL Frees & Offers Hunt. This is gorgeous, top-line clothing from the very generous creators, and like fine wine, it will age well.

The hunt gift from Masoom is the Nina dress in classic navy blue. This fabulous dress has an asymmetric front opening that's buttoned up where it matters and includes an optional panty.

Ava's sparkly demi parure jewelry set is the hunt gift from Chop Zuey. The Fleur Delique set has a texture change Hud with lots of options. The color Ava used is pinker than it appears in the photo - it's lost some color to due to lighting.

The "Iris" shoes, the hunt gift from Ch's, have tons of color options with the included Hud. These match the navy blue of Ava's dress but for materials differences.

The elegant silk kimono Ava just slipped into is the FREE SL F&O Hunt gift from Belle Epoque. As a dressing gown I think it hearkens back to the glamourous golden days of early Hollywood. Like other Belle Epoque clothing, the Kanemi kimono is sized for the Maitreya body.

Ava's Lady Moth tattoo is the FREE SL F&O Hunt gift from Shinu Made, a shop that's new to me. I'm happy the hunt introduced me to it, for the décor as well as the tattoos.

I managed to make Heidi go hunting like crazy and take pics from the gifts she found.
So here a little sample of the amazing gifts that our SL F&O designers had set for us in our first annual hunt.

SLFO Hunt: Hilly Haalan

~ First Annual SL Frees and Offers Hunt gifts from Hilly Haalan and Persefona ~

The autumn leaf hidden at Hilly Haalan has not one but four gifts inside. Ava is wearing one of the gifts, the Naomi Mini Dress Outfit, which includes the dress, bracelet, earrings, necklace, clutch, and two items not shown, shoes and an arm cuff. A Hud gives you 15 different textures for the dress. For me, the piece de resistance is the clutch, which has a resize script and includes the hold pose. I love it!

The autumn leaves swirling around Ava are the SL F&O Hunt gift from Persefona.

SLFO Hunt: StormCrow Designs

Ava's entire outfit - the crop sweater, jeans, and ankle boots - is FREE at StormCrow Designs with a little hunting. The sweater has a Hud giving a choice of ten colors.
